Solar power drives major energy rating improvements for Leto Eiendom

“Our goal is for all our buildings to achieve an energy rating of B or better by the end of 2025. Solar energy has been an important tool in reaching this target. We have now improved the energy rating of several of our buildings, clearly showing that the investment is delivering results,” says Trond Ola Rynning of Leto Eiendom.

The largest improvement was achieved at the most recent project at Henrik Bulls veg 100, where a major upgrade combined with solar panels lifted the building from an energy rating of D to A. For the tenant Bohus, this provides a double benefit: access to locally produced solar power and the ability to operate in an energy-efficient A-rated building.

Efficient asset management through technology

Leto Eiendom has chosen the SundayOS software platform to monitor all of its solar power systems.

“The solution handles invoicing of solar power to tenants and gives us full visibility into production and consumption across all systems in our portfolio. If something isn’t working as it should, the system detects it early so we can take action before energy production is lost. This is a key part of our strategy for efficient asset management,” says Rynning.

Green buildings that pay off

“It’s inspiring to see how Leto Eiendom is working systematically to make its portfolio greener and more future-proof. Energy ratings are becoming increasingly important, and we now see this reflected in property valuations,” says Ole-Bjørn Horn, Client Executive at Sunday Power.

He refers to recent findings from Newsec, which show that commercial properties with an energy rating of A or B are on average 15% more valuable than buildings with the lowest energy ratings.

“Solar energy is an effective measure to secure this value increase. Our goal is to make it easy for property owners to achieve greener, more valuable buildings by installing solar panels on their rooftops,” Horn concludes.
